Strange carts

I recently purchased a job lot of video games and in amongst them were these. Im sure they are Mega drive carts but i dont have a Mega drive to test them on -what are they and are they of any value?

From the looks of it, it seems you ended up with some development versions of games! These are usually things that you want to back up so they aren't lost to the tides of time. If you're interested in preserving them, the folks at Hidden Palace might be able to help you out. Very neat find as well, I've never seen J-Carts repurposed for development like that.

Thanks for the reply Rivet. I know nothing about the process of game development but are these then "Prototypes" which may have been sent out for testing and not returned to the developers ? or are they carts which someone has tried to modify themselves?

Definitely get in touch with Hidden Palace, they'd probably know more about this kind of stuff, as they specialize in documentation and preservation, whereas this place is more about just developing stuff for the Mega Drive.
