This Sonic Rom Hack is not meant for casual or beginner players! Please be aware of this if you play this Sonic Rom Hack.

Main Info\Introduction:

Sonic 1 DLCM Remaster is a complete from the ground up remake, overhaul and expansion (if you can even consider this as an expansion) of the Original Sonic 1 DLCM released back in 2016. It was created using the Original\Old Sonic 1 Hivebrain 2005 ASM68K disassembly.

This remastered version of Sonic 1 DLCM mostly stays close to the original version's concept whilst adding new level layouts, features, improvements and recycling some old ideas from a scrapped\lost SHC2016 Update Build that was never finished or released. This remastered version Sonic 1 DLCM was made with the intention of providing a more polished and none-rushed-glitched-slop experience, as well to replace the original release.

What Sonic 1 DLCM is in general:
Sonic 1 DLCM is a challenge based rom hack of Sonic 1, that mainly focuses on a ring attack element. With a primary objective of collecting certain amount of rings in order to progress pass certain points in the game. It also includes a very hard level known as "Secret Area Zone" and sped up final zone boss.

Additional Information:
(Hidden in spoiler, as reading this additional information is optional. Plus it helps keeps this post from feeling like a wall of text by default.)
Game Modes:
Unlike the original version of Sonic 1 DLCM, This remastered version includes multiple game modes. That are as follows:

1. Remaster Mode:

Remaster Mode is the extended version of the main game with all the remaster elements included. In this mode the game will use the Hub World and will require you to collect 500 rings and then 800 rings later on.

Remaster Mode's Hub World allows you to not only replay acts but it also allows you to play acts in any order you wish. Which may prove to be very helpful depending on how you choose to play.

This mode also includes the optional Special Stage, where you have to find all 6 chaos emeralds in a maze like bonus level as your ring count ticks down to 0. To access the special stage. You must find a specific monitor in any of the main levels, complete the level you find it in, then find and jump into the blue entry ring that appears in the Hub World.

This mode has the following levels accessible:
  • Green Hill Zone Acts 1, 2 and 3
  • Marble Zone Acts 1 and 2
  • Secret Area Zone
  • Final Boss
  • Bonus: Special Stage
(Note: Remaster Mode is the only mode that Hub World is used.)

2. Original Mode:

Original Mode is the effectively main game mode that follows the path of the Original Sonic 1 DLCM. Where you need to collect 800 rings before finishing Marble Zone Act 1.

This mode uses the remaster level layouts and includes some stuff that was recycled from the scrapped\lost SHC2016 Update Build. However it maintains alot of the remaster's features.

This mode has the following levels accessible:
  • Green Hill Zone Acts 1, 2 and 3
  • Marble Zone Act 1
  • Secret Area Zone
  • Final Boss
(Note: This mode requires you to collect 800 rings or more before the end of Marble Zone Act 1 whilst in the Original Sonic 1 DLCM, it was optional. This was a change that was originally made in the scrapped\lost SHC2016 Update Build and this change was kept in this remastered version.)

3. Standard Mode:

This mode is known as the Standard Play mode, as this mode basically strips out the ring attack element and only allows you to play Green Hill Zone and Marble Zone with no bosses or story. This is the only mode where the objective is just simply get from start to finish.

This mode has the following levels accessible:
  • Green Hill Zone Acts 1, 2 and 3
  • Marble Zone Acts 1 and 2
(Note: This mode uses the remaster levels only.)

4. Original Mode Plus (Unlockable):

Original Mode Plus is unlockable mode that is based on "Original Mode" and even works the same but with a twist. In this mode you get to playthrough the levels from the Original Sonic 1 DLCM (Or more specifically from the scrapped\lost SHC2016 Update Build).

However whilst this mode uses levels from the Original Sonic 1 DLCM (Or more specifically the scrapped\lost SHC2016 Update Build). The levels have been tweaked and adjusted to the same standard of the remaster levels.

This mode has the following levels accessible:
  • Green Hill Zone Acts 1, 2 and 3
  • Marble Zone Act 1
  • Secret Area Zone
  • Final Boss
(Note: Sonic's Speed Boost Ability is unlimited in this mode.)

In Game Character Abilities:
In this remastered version, You have access to some additional moves and abilities along side the basic walk\run, duck, look up, jump and roll. Which are as follows:
  • Spindash (Press and Hold Down Button to duck and then press A, B and C to charge up and then simply release to take off when ready.)
  • Peel Out (Press and Hold Up Button to look up and then press A, B or C to charge up the peel out and then release to take off when ready)
  • Speed Boost (Whilst moving press and hold down C button to boost)
(Note: These abilities are disabled in some levels\areas)

Extra information regarding the Speed Boost Ability:
Unlike the Original Sonic 1 DLCM. In this remastered version, The Speed Boost is limited by how many times you can use it.

The number of times you can Speed Boost is represented by "S" icons that are displayed under the ring count. You can get more speed boost usages by finding "S" monitors in the levels.

Also whilst Speed Boosting. You are invincible and you can smash through breakable walls, monitors and any badniks in your way whilst going at full speed.

Extra Notes:
Yes, I know some of the music in this Sonic Rom Hack is over-used. However I currently have limitations to what music I can use. Since I have little to no music skills and I am currently only able to port music from S2, S3K, 3DB. As well as being reliant on existing free to use tracks. So please keep this in mind if you decide to comment about music.

Also this Sonic Rom Hack has some graphical glitches that will occur occasionally (most of which I tried my best to fix).
